The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has issued a strong caution to camp officials, urging them to limit social interactions with members of the scheme. Hajiya Aisha Mohammed, the coordinator of NYSC in Katsina State, conveyed this directive during a comprehensive briefing held for officials in preparation for the upcoming three-week orientation course, scheduled from February 15 to March 6, 2024.
During the briefing, Mohammed emphasized the crucial role officials play in setting a positive example for the young participants. She stressed the importance of maintaining discipline throughout the orientation course and urged personnel to exhibit unwavering commitment by strictly adhering to the established rules and regulations governing the event.
In particular, Mohammed highlighted the need for officials to uphold professionalism and discouraged them from engaging in excessive socialization with corps members. She underscored the significance of maintaining a professional relationship with the participants.
Additionally, Mohammed advocated for seamless cooperation between the security personnel assigned to the exercise and the camp officials to ensure a secure and smooth environment. She emphasized that such collaboration would foster active participation from the corps members, contributing to the overall success of the orientation course.
Reiterating these sentiments, Camp Commandant Capt. AS Musa emphasized the critical role of teamwork in effectively executing the exercise. He assured everyone of the security agencies’ dedication to ensuring the camp’s safety throughout the duration of the orientation course.
