The Nigerian Tulip International Colleges (NTIC) has garnered widespread acclaim for its outstanding performance at the Mathematics without Borders International Tournament held in Bulgaria. The prestigious academic mathematics tournament, composed of four rounds, witnessed NTIC students securing an impressive tally of 22 medals.
Managed by Feyzullah Bilgin, the NTIC fielded a team of 90 students from various school branches across Nigeria, who participated alongside 23,248 peers from 29 nations, including Canada, the USA, Bulgaria, Russia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Indonesia. The tournament’s unique format involved the first two rounds being hosted in partner schools.
Expressing his admiration for the students’ remarkable achievements, Feyzullah Bilgin remarked, “From our school branches across Nigeria, 90 students participated in tandem with 23,248 peers from 29 nations, including Canada, the USA, Bulgaria, Russia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Indonesia. Ultimately, 22 of our students emerged victorious, clinching 6 gold, 4 silver, and 12 bronze medals.”
The outstanding performances of individual students were highlighted, with special commendation extended to Abubakar Hafsat and Maryam Idris Bowu for achieving perfect scores. Notable mentions also went to Yunus Hassan Yunus from NTIC Yobe Primary, Luis Lu from NTIC Abuja Boys, Kaosisochukwu Karsten Enebe from NTIC Abuja Co-Ed, and Oghenerukevwe Esemitodje Patrick from Bright Sun College, Lagos Secondary, for their gold medal triumphs in the inaugural round of the competition.
