The National Examination Council (NECO) has released the results for the 2023 Senior Secondary School Examination (SSCE) external, commonly known as NECO GCE. Out of the 74,342 candidates who participated in the exam across 29 subjects, 67.35% achieved five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics.

 

Breaking down the results, 52.28% of candidates were male, while 47.71% were female. A total of 50,066 candidates, representing 67.35%, secured five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics. Additionally, 84.11% of candidates, totaling 62,530, achieved five credits and above, irrespective of English Language and Mathematics.

 

In terms of malpractice, 8,518 candidates were implicated, indicating a 25.4% decrease compared to the previous year. Professor Dantani Wushishi, the Registrar and Chief Executive of NECO, mentioned that two supervisors in Oyo and Lagos State, as well as one center in Borno, were blacklisted due to poor supervision.
