Dear Graduating Students,
We wish to bring to your attention the recent decisions made by the Polytechnic Management Committee (PMC) regarding the Convocation Levy for the upcoming Convocation Ceremony.
The PMC has approved an increment in the Convocation Levy, which was previously Six Thousand Naira (₦6,000), and has now been revised to Ten Thousand Naira (₦10,000). Additionally, the 11th Governing Council has graciously approved an additional Two Thousand Naira (₦2,000) for the purchase of Historical Books covering the period from 1979 to the present.
As a result, the total payment for the Convocation Levy now stands at Twelve Thousand Naira (₦12,000). This amount covers the following items for every graduand:
1. Academic Gowns (to be returned within 3 days after the Ceremony)
2. Graduation Brochure
3. Newly added Historical Book (1979-Date) of the Polytechnic
It’s important to note that this adjustment applies to the effective sessions of the Convocation Ceremony, namely 2020/2021 and 2021/2022. The corresponding graduation years are 2021/2022 and 2022/2023. Therefore, students with Matriculation Numbers N/EE/20…, N/EE/21…, and so on, will be impacted by this increment.
Graduands before these dates will only be required to pay Two Thousand Naira (₦2,000) for the new Historical Book (1979-Date) and the previous Convocation Levy of Six Thousand Naira (₦6,000), totaling Eight Thousand Naira (₦8,000).
For those unable to attend the Convocation Ceremony on March 6, 2024, a demurrage fee of Ten Thousand Naira (₦10,000) will be applicable for warehousing the Certificates and Graduation Brochures.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to these adjustments. Should you have any further inquiries or require clarification, please feel free to contact the relevant authorities.
Thank you, and we anticipate your cooperation in making the Convocation Ceremony a memorable and successful event.
Warm regards,
