Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, delivered a compelling address during the 8th convocation ceremony of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, emphasizing the crucial role that Nigerian universities play in shaping graduates equipped to tackle the nation’s pressing challenges. At this significant convocation, a notable 6,563 students were awarded degrees, reflecting the institution’s commitment to academic excellence. The breakdown included 114 First Class, 2,762 Second Class Upper, 2,793 Second Class Lower, and 688 Third Class graduates. Furthermore, 163 master’s, 36 PhD, and seven postgraduate diploma recipients marked the occasion, highlighting the diverse academic achievements within the university.
In recognition of their outstanding contributions to their respective fields, honorary doctorates were conferred upon Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, Senator Solomon Adeola, and Yusuf Gagdi.
